What is virtual reality
Vision Therapy?

Independent
optome[email protected] and its predecessor have been offering continuous independent optometric services in Cooroy since 1997. We are a locally owned business employing local people and we are proud to be active in the Cooroy community.
Our independence and experience means that we are free to choose the best products and treatment plans for you as an individual taking into consideration your particular needs and budget.
We also choose to use Australian companies and products wherever possible.
Advanced Diagnostic Equipment
We have the latest advanced diagnostic equipment including Optomap (Ultra-wide field retinal imaging), OCT (Ocular Coherence Tomography), Retinal Photography with FAF (Fundus Auto-fluorescence), computerised Visual Field Assessment & 3D Corneal Topography.
As part of our Behavioural Optometry practice we have the only Intuitive Colorimeter on the Sunshine Coast  which allows us to prescribe Cerium Precision Tinted spectacle lenses for those experiencing Visual Stress or Meares-Irlen Syndrome. Our ReadAlyzer Eye Movement Recording System aids our analysis of eye movements during reading.
Most recently we added the VIVID VISION virtual reality vision therapy system for treatment of binocular vision problems including strabismus & amblyopia in patient of all ages.

Behavioural Optometry for All Ages
Although the majority of our patients taking advantage of our speciality behavioural optometry services are children, we believe that patients of all ages can benefit from a behavioural optometry approach as it is not only children who deserve to have a visual system working to its highest level of efficiency.
Those with eye motor control problems, lazy eye, developmental delays, acquired brain injuries, delays in learning to read or problems reading to learn might benefit from this more holistic approach to vision care.

Experience
Our 3 optometrists have between them over 60 years combined clinical experience.
Principal Jennifer Currie & Heather McLeod have each served the Sunshine Coast region for more than 2 decades. Optometrist Kate Weller recently joined the team in early June 2020 as Heather transitions into retirement.  Kate has brought with her the fresh enthusiasm & insights of an early career optometrist.
Our support staff, Ray Smith, Allahah Richards & Verinia White are all fully qualified Optical Dispensers who can assist you with all your eyewear needs, providing expert advice on frames and lenses.

All of our team continually update their knowledge base and clinical skills by attending seminars and workshops and, more recently, Webinars throughout the year.
