COVID considerations

When visiting us we ask that you please follow any current government recommendations for health care settings regarding:  Please note that we are required to follow guidelines regarding Health Care Settings rather than retail.

1. Mask wearing  (this regulation remains in place even with easing of restrictions from 14/04/2022)
2. Social distancing
3. Checking in with the QLD App  (if this requirement is reinstated)
4. Testing & isolating where required
5. Rescheduling your appointment if you are experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms
We have remained open to service the eye care needs of our valued clients & the local community throughout the recent COVID-19 pandemic & have been implementing the recommended hygiene & social distancing protocols that apply in our professional situation.

Optometry is considered an essential medical service & can be open during lockdown periods for urgent & emergency concerns including eye emergencies, urgent vision concerns, broken spectacles & contact lens orders. Should there be the unfortunate circumstances in which a lockdown is again required we may be open reduced hours. Please check our Facebook page for any short-notice changes to our hours.

14th April 2022:
As health care is an essential service we are able to continue to assist all clients regardless of their vaccination status and, as per the current QLD Health recommendations for health care services. While we are aware that restrictions have eased in many areas including retail, hospitality & entertainment we are mandated to continue to require our staff and our clients to wear a mask when inside the practice and to socially distance where able.

Please do not be offended if we ask you to wear a mask or about your vaccination status. We ask these questions so as to assess the possible risks to both yourself and to our team. We can supply you with a mask should you have forgotten to bring one.  Should you decline this at this point in time, we will be happy to reschedule your visit with us when regulations in the health care settings change.

Those unable to wear a mask might be asked to wait outside the practice (there is seating on our front verandah) until we are ready to call you in.
